GT fishing in Japan is severe. This is because the number of GTs is low, and the long-term fishing pressure in the limited points may also be an influence. Although a captain’s experiences and techniques are important factors, it is difficult to catch the target unless accuracy and long throwing ability of casting, point spotting, action from landing of a lure to biting action after chasing and fighting techniques are all of high quality.
The most important factor for developing a lure is to achieve results, i.e. it must be able to catch the target. It is difficult but that leads to results. That is why developers are particular about the “Japanese fields”. Chug is a plug, after a number of field test, we have managed to develop with confidence of getting a bite.
Chug has adopted a new-age material and is made of 3 dimensional mold. The shape provides reality and actions different from the existing GT plugs. It specializes in slow jerk action with short stroke and is developed mainly for 2-3 actions per one turn of the handle with a combination of line capacity of PE 8 and approx. 250m of large spinning reel (high gear type). By applying the jerking power similar to the one with top water plug for black bass using a slack line, it repeatedly produces dog-walk action showing the side and splashes.
The specific weight inside a standard foaming plug is the same, but for Chug, the specific weight (foaming rate) of the belly part and back is changed enabling quick actions that attract GTs.
